Domaine Genot-Boulanger Premier Cru Mercurey-Sazenay 2020
The 2019 Mercurey Sazenay 1er Cru comes from a 1.8-hectare parcel, half replanted in Pinot Fin in 1998 and the rest replanted in 2015. It has a little more richness and opulence compared with the Les Saumonts, sporting an ebullient red cherry and crushed strawberry nose that rapidly becomes very floral in the glass. The palate is candied on the opening, with orange zest infusing the tart red cherry fruit, a slightly chalky texture and a fresh, vibrant finish. This is really quite excellent. Delicious
