Tenuta di Sesta Note D’incanto Brunello di Montalcino 2018
The wine is sourced from one of the higher, more austere sites in Montalcino- at 400 meters- and is made as traditionally as it gets. It’s a tightly-wound style of Sangiovese with buttery leather, bramble and mint chocolate notes adding complexity to a solid core of cool cherry and wild berry fruit. An excellent, classically-styled 2016, it drinks well decanted right now (accent on ‘decanted’) but will reward further cellaring too.
