Tres Generaciones Añejo 50th Anniversary Legacy Edition Vol.3
To celebrate its 50th Anniversary, Tres is offering a unique liquid to pay homage to Don Francisco Javier Sauza’s original recipe, which he crafted in honor of three generations of family distilling. Using traditional processes, this 100% agave liquid is aged 14 months in specially selected American Oak barrels treated and charred-in house. This rare release is displayed in a green ceramic bottle inspired by the Don’s original 1973 decanter that put tequila on the world stage.
TASTING NOTES
COLOR: Deep amber
AROMA: Top note of cooked agave and charred wood giving a slight smoky note, followed by notes of vanilla, caramel and red apples
TASTE: Medium bodied, highly complex and well-balanced. Notes of cooked agave, sweet vanilla, caramel, apples, almonds, slight smoke and well-defined tannings
FINISH: Long and smooth with subtle warmth and no alcohol burn
THE PROCESS
Our roots within our heritage run deep. That’s why our tequila is still produced at the same distillery where Don Cenobio began everything back in 1873— La Perseverancia. Our agave is hand selected only when perfectly ripe. We fresh-press our agave, extracting the juice before it is cooked, resulting in reduced bitterness and a crisp, agave-forward flavor.
TRES DISTILLATION
After cooking and fermenting our agave, we take it a step further with our Añejo, Plata, Reposado, and Cristalino by distilling for a third time, rather than the typical two distillations process. As pioneers of this method, we believe this extra step removes most impurities in our tequila, producing a more refined flavor without any harshness or burn.
