VAZISUBANI ESTATE KAKHURI MTSVANE 2020
The estate-grown mtsvane grapes for this wine are sourced from the Vazisubani PDO, on the right bank of the Alazani River in the Kakheti region. Vines are planted 1500-1800feet elevation. Top soil is 14- 16inches, black to loamy; Sub-soil is white clay with stony structure laying on a limestone strata with carbonated enclaves.
Kakhetian Mtsvane ‘kawk-hetian mitts-vawn-ee’ – also known as Kakhuri Mtsvane, is one of six indigenous varieties of mtsvane and is one of Georgia’s oldest indigenous varieties on today’s market. Vinified in qvevri, the wine shows apricot and stone-fruit character and amber color.
